TORONTO – The Ryerson Rams men’s and women’s basketball teams released their 2014-15 OUA regular season schedule on Monday with both teams starting their campaigns on the road on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the Waterloo Warriors.

In May, the OUA released a division realignment and new schedule structure that will see Ryerson play seven Wednesday night games and only six Saturday games. In total, the Rams will play 19 regular season games including ten at home and nine on the road. The OUA basketball circuit has also now been broken into four divisions with Ryerson playing in the east with the Queen’s Gaels, Toronto Varsity Blues and York Lions.

Ryerson’s home opener is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 12 when the Western Mustangs come to Coca-Cola Court at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. (women) and 8 p.m. (men).

Winners of the last four straight CIS national championships, the Windsor Lancers and their women’s basketball team are in town on Nov. 16 with tip-off at 6 p.m. The men’s squad, who attended the OUA Final Four last year, will play Ryerson at 8 p.m.

Ryerson continues its four-game home stand the next weekend against Laurentian and Nipissing. Nipissing is a new entry into the OUA and will compete in the north division with Laurentian, Ottawa and Carleton.

The first-half of the season wraps up on Nov. 29 and 30 when Ryerson goes to Ottawa to play the Gee-Gees and Carleton Ravens. Ottawa is the defending OUA champion while Carleton is the defending CIS champion. Last season, the men’s team lost both match ups to both Ottawa and Carleton in the regular season while the women split with Carleton but lost twice to Ottawa. The pre-break games will be the only time that the Rams play Ottawa and Carleton in the 2014-15 regular season.

The second half starts on the road for the Rams with a Wednesday night divisional game against the Toronto Varsity Blues on Jan. 7, 2015. It will be the first time that Ryerson plays in Toronto’s new Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

Three days later, Ryerson will play its only afternoon game of the season at home against the McMaster Marauders. Tip-off for the women is at 1 p.m. while the men’s start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.

After a Wednesday night game against the York Lions at home on Jan. 14, the Rams hit the road for four straight games playing Algoma, York, Queen’s and Brock.

They return home on Feb. 4 for four straight games at home starting with the Guelph Gryphons before taking on Lakehead and Toronto the following weekend. Ryerson finishes the regular season on a Friday night, Feb. 20, taking on the Queen’s Gaels at 6 p.m. (women) and 8 p.m. (men).

The preliminary round of the OUA playoffs is scheduled to start on Feb. 25 with the OUA Final Four being hosted by the highest remaining seed on March 6 and 7.

Ryerson will host the 2015 CIS Final 8 Men’s Basketball Championship from March 12-15 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre while the Laval Rouge et Or will host the women’s tournament the same weekend. Tickets for the Final 8 can be purchased here.
