Ray Rice and the NFL are drawing criticism from the football community and beyond after TMZ released a new video of the Baltimore Ravens running back attacking his then-fiancée in an elevator in Atlantic City last February.

Rice was charged with aggravated assault and was later suspended two games by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

“We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the Associated Press. “That video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today.”

The Ravens and Rice’s lawyer Michael Diamondstein would not comment on the video to the AP.

The release of the video has caused outrage on Twitter.
