The Hot Corner – Friday July 9, 2010

The Final Vote winners for the 2010 MLB All-Star game were announced yesterday and one of the winners was the expected winner while the AL winner had a hard fought voting battle with the runner up. The NL final vote player was Canadian Joey Votto of the Cincinatti Reds. Most people, along with myself believe Votto should have been named to the All-Star team in the first place. The American League winner was Nick Swisher of the New York Yankees. Swisher won in a tight battle with Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis. Swisher did not dissapoint those who voted for him last night as he went 4-4 at the plate. The Reds start a series today against the Phillies while the Yankees are in Seattle to face off with the Mariners, a team in which they may be trading with before the trade deadline.
